The Qu River flows from west to east through the Shipyard Village in Longyou County, Zhejiang Province, China, accumulating a significant amount of silt and forming sandbanks and tidal flats, which provide nutrients to the local natural ecology and agricultural production. This area has also become an important resting point in the world's migratory bird routes. During certain historical periods, many individuals and businesses used to extract sand from the Qu River for sale. This practice led to the degradation of the terrain, nutrient loss in water and soil, negatively impacting the local ecology, and increasing the hazards of flooding during the rainy season.
The fate of the village and the destiny of migratory birds are determined by the river's sand.
I have crafted a wind turbine from collected feathers of wild geese and placed it on the rooftop of an old house by the Qu River. Whenever the wind drives the turbine, the generated electricity powers a grain of river sand suspended by a delicate thread inside the exhibition hall, causing it to tremble.

鸟翼下的村子是沙洲上的船2023

衢江自西向东从中国浙江省龙游县船厂村流过，为这里积累下大量的泥沙，形成了沙洲和滩涂。泥沙与河流中丰富的营养物质也滋养了这里的自然生态和农业生产。船厂村及其周边也成为世界上候鸟迁徙路线中重要的暂歇点。一些特殊的历史阶段，衢江的河沙被大量采挖，对当地生态产生了一系列的负面影响。
河沙决定了村子的命运，也决定了这里候鸟的命运。
我用捡到的羽毛制作成风力发电机并立于屋顶，每当风带动发电机时，产生的电能会驱动展厅内一粒悬于细丝的河沙抖动。

The Old House On Seed

Paper mulberry is one of the few trees that is not planted by humans but can rely on its strong vitality to grow into a large tree in densely populated areas. But nowadays, they can mostly only appear in areas that have not yet been completely covered by cement and artificial greening projects. Although paper mulberry is one of the plants most easily spread by birds, there are always only a few seeds that can fall to the soil with bird droppings and germinate.
I collect paper mulberry seeds from bird droppings on artificial building surfaces and grow them into seedlings. Then I dug out the ground of this house built in 1966, and planted these paper mulberry trees in the soil that had been sealed for half a century. All the water used to water these plants comes from condensation from air conditioners.

构树、杂草、鸟类粪便、日光灯、自动喷雾器等
构树是少有的非人类种植，但又能依靠极强生命力在人口密集的区域有机会长成大树的乔木。但它们大多只能出现在那些尚未被水泥和绿化工程彻底覆盖的区域。构树是最易被鸟类传播的植物之一，但能够随鸟粪降落到土壤并萌发的种子始终是少数。
我在龙游县沙洲上的人造建筑表面收集鸟粪中的构树种子，接着我凿开了这座建于1966年的房屋地面，将这些原本无缘萌发的构树种在这尘封了半个世纪之久的泥土之中。我设置的自动喷淋系统与空调外机相连，空调产生的水全部被自动存储用于浇灌这些植物。

From a longer time scale, many behaviors such as bird dispersal of plant seeds, nest building, and predation are subtly shaping the landscape. To me, every bird is a flying hoe.
I scanned and enlarged the skull of a heron and combined it with tree sticks to form a hoe.

3D打印头骨、树棍等
从更长的时间尺度上看，鸟类传播植物种子、筑巢、捕食等诸多行为都在潜移默化的塑造着地貌。每一只鸟都是一把飞行的锄。
我捡到一只喙部受过严重损伤并愈合了的鹭鸟头骨，我将其3D扫描并放大打印，与树棍一起组成了一把锄头。
