Lacquer art is one of the oldest crafts in China. It combines the natural sap in the lacquer tree with other materials and processes to make handicrafts and daily necessities. However, the production process of lacquer art is complicated and slow. Like many ancient traditions, it has received limited attention in this era. China's Fujian Province is famous for its lacquer art. I used raw lacquer and sackcloth to replicate the shapes of megaliths and ancient stone tools in a mountain in Fujian. Amplified equipment was installed in these models and played the sound of thunder and rain in this mountain. The leaves and red paint powder on the surface of the work will vibrate violently with the rhythm of thunder and rain. It's like the life force of a plant boils in another form.
